Emmy wins 2015

KVIE staffers attended the 45th Annual Northern California Area Emmy Awards Ceremony in San Francisco with hopes of turning seven Emmy nominations into Emmy awards. We are thrilled to announce that two of our local productions received the highest honors.

Producer Marinda Johnson Gorman brought home an Emmy for “Interview/Discussion-Feature/Segment” for KVIE Arts Showcase: National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu. In this segment, Chu reflects on how the arts are a universal experience that touches us each on a different level, and how the arts helped give her a place of belonging as a woman of Chinese heritage in the Midwest.

Editor Odin Abbott brought home an Emmy for “Informational/Instructional-Program/Special” for Yes! We’re Open: Night Shift, which introduces the entrepreneurs who are making their dreams happen while the rest of us are asleep.

Congratulations to Marinda and Odin and everyone who was nominated. And thank you to everyone who watches and supports KVIE for making it possible for us to make high-quality and award-winning television for everyone in our part of Northern California.
