Summary
The Marketing Coordinator supports the marketing team by developing and executing social media content that promotes our programming, special events, and brand. This role creates engaging, timely content across social platforms while supporting other marketing and promotional initiatives. Essential Functions
- Coordinates social media marketing and engagement, including content development, publishing, audience engagement, performance monitoring, and identifying opportunities to strengthen social media presence.
- Collaborates with staff and departments to promote programs, events, fundraising initiatives, community engagement, and other organizational priorities.
- Supports digital marketing, audience engagement, and website initiatives.
- Works with the team to develop and adapt promotional materials for local audiences and maintain consistent brand messaging.
- Promotes local productions, programming, news and local journalism, streaming on KVIE+ and the PBS App, and other station initiatives across appropriate marketing channels.
- Supports content and creative asset development for other marketing communications as needed.
- Assists with programming schedules, listings, records, and related communications.
- Works closely with team to support promotional, marketing, and brand management efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Mission-driven and passionate about the role of public media.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other technology tools relevant to the position.
- Demonstrates clear, effective, and proactive communication.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities effectively.
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues and diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides professional and responsive service and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Positively and professionally represents PBS KVIE in the community.
- Leverages AI and technology tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining independent judgment and responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, confidentiality, and quality of all work product, in compliance with organizational policies, journalistic ethics, and professional standards.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, with a passion for developing creative and innovative ways to engage audiences.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including knowledge of AP style.
- Experience creating social media and digital content using photo, video, and design tools.
- Understanding of marketing, branding, and audience engagement concepts.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, or a related field.
