Do you have extensive knowledge of California agriculture?  Are you well-connected with growers, commodity groups, and other organizations throughout the industry?  PBS KVIE in Sacramento is seeking an industry expert to act as Consultant for a new season of its national PBS series America’s Heartland. Our ideal team player is passionate about promoting California agriculture with the country, enjoys many positive relationships within the agricultural industry, and works well with stakeholders.

• Assists the Series Producer with identification of organizations whose specialty crops will be featured and will facilitate contacting and establishing relationships with these specialty crop organizations. Consultant will have knowledge of, and relationships with, growers and commodity organizations that engage with consumers from diverse communities.
• Advises such organizations of production plans and ensures that the organization coordinates and maximizes their efforts to promote the broadcasts.
• Works with specialty crop organizations to help them post pertinent stories and episodes on their own websites, as well as other social media platforms of growers, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be mission-driven and passionate about the role of public media.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective and proactive communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Collaborative and works effectively with diverse stakeholders as a team.
• Positively and professionally represents PBS KVIE throughout the community.

• Minimum of five years of professional experience.

• Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
