KVIE’s Emmy Award-winning weekly series; designed to raise the level of civil discourse in our region on local television. Studio Sacramento gathers community leaders to discuss the big questions facing our region, inviting thousands of viewers into the conversation.
The 30-minute programs are studio-based, with limited or no b-roll or graphics. The set is minimal, providing focus on the host and guests. Host and prominent community member Scott Syphax identifies topics and guests and ensures that conversations are significant, inclusive of a diverse set of views, and ultimately transformative and collaborative.
While available for everyone in our 28-county viewing area to see, Studio Sacramento is aimed at the 28% of the population interested in civic and political issues . Since the July 2011 premiere, the weekly airings are cumulatively averaging just over 10,000 viewers a week, similar to ratings from PBS mainstays such as Washington Week, Nightly Business Report and even PBS NewsHour in some instances.
Studio Sacramento airs Fridays at 7:30pm, and repeats Sundays at 5pm on KVIEHD (except when pre-empted by membership drives). It airs various times on KVIE2 and is available for viewing online at kvie.org and YouTube.
