KVIE's
programming philosophy is to air and create programs that
reflect the community back to itself. In doing so, our productions
reflect our rich history, introduce us to the people and places
in the present, and help us plan for the future.
In
addition to our productions America's Heartland, California
Heartland, Central Valley Chronicles, and California Connected,
we are proud of the range of relevant, compelling and diverse
programs that we've produced this year.
And,
we're particularly proud that we earned 10 Emmy Awards in
2004, more than any other station in our market.

Thiebaud:
Heart Cakes to Bow Ties
Sacramento
State Graduate and internationally renowned artist Wayne Thiebaud takes
you on a journey of how he became the artist that he is today. Wanting
to paint simple objects that he had never seen painted before, he began
painting items such as cakes and pies. Not limiting the subjects of
his work, he went on to do paintings of items, such as dresses, shoes
as well as focusing on the human body. Thiebaud's work has been showcased
at the Crocker Art Museum. He has also provided Sacramento with it's
first public work of art by painting an abstract montage that covers
the Sacramento Municiple Utilities District (SMUD) offices.
