KVIE's
programming philosophy is to air and create programs that
reflect the community back to itself. In doing so, our productions
reflect our rich history, introduce us to the people and places
in the present, and help us plan for the future.
In
addition to our productions America's Heartland, California
Heartland, Central Valley Chronicles, and California Connected,
we are proud of the range of relevant, compelling and diverse
programs that we've produced this year.
And,
we're particularly proud that we earned 10 Emmy Awards in
2004, more than any other station in our market.

Mad Cow Disease: Is Our Food Safe?
While the United States scrambles to close the gap in the nation’s defense against mad cow disease, the worry of infection among Americans remains. Two cases of the deadly disease have now been diagnosed in U.S. cattle. This program explores how the disease attacks cows, the harm it poses to people, and what research is under way to help reduce the risks. Beef producers and scientists are working together to close dangerous loopholes that will help prevent the spread of mad cow disease worldwide.
