KVIE Public Television strives to be our region’s storyteller, and is one of the most prolific creators of local content within the public television family. Through on-air initiatives like the Rob on the Road series hosted by Rob Stewart, KVIE brings a fresh, new look at the people and places that make our community our home. Every month, Rob Stewart travels throughout KVIE’s 28-county viewing area, visiting the people and places that capture the spirit of what makes California great. These are the stories that matter and move you—the good news stories you always hope for in local news but rarely see.
KVIE’s You on the Road is a community video companion project to Rob on the Road. It’s an opportunity to use public television to share your stories about the people and places that inspire you, and capture what makes our region an exciting place to live and work. Through Rob on the Road and your You on the Road stories, you can help others experience our region in a new and inspiring way! Check out stories already created by Rob for examples of our Rob on the Road production style.
From the submissions we receive, KVIE will select approximately five stories to be featured in a 30-minute special edition of Rob on the Road. You may also have the opportunity to be interviewed by Rob as part of the program if your story is chosen. It’s a great way to celebrate the things you love about our region, showcase your talents, and to become part of a citizen team that supports and appreciates what public television brings to the community.
This is an open and on-going initiative. The deadline to submit videos for inclusion in the first 30-minute Rob on the Road program, that includes You on the Road material, is:
July 15, 2011.
