During these turbulent times Americans across the country are discussing and debating our nation's role in the world.

While military actions and political policies grab the headlines, little attention is being paid to a vital economic activity directly related to national security: agriculture.

In the coming years the decisions our country makes regarding food aid and trade have the potential to greatly alter the way the United States is perceived around the globe.

Those same decisions will have an enormous impact on communities across the Central Valley, where agriculture is an essential element in our economic well being.

For these reasons KVIE is participating in a new national project called "By The People", a series of television broadcasts and public forums designed to engage ordinary citizens in discussion and dialogue about America's role in the future of the world's food supply.

Your voice, your opinions and your thoughts are important, and should be shared with others.
