Host Mailha Yang and videographer Rich Enos capture elements for an upcoming episode.

KVIE's programming philosophy is to air and create programs that reflect the community back to itself. In doing so, our productions reflect our rich history, introduce us to the people and places in the present, and help us plan for the future.

In addition to our productions America's Heartland, California Heartland, Central Valley Chronicles, and California Connected, we are proud of the range of relevant, compelling and diverse programs that we've produced this year.

And, we're particularly proud that we earned 10 Emmy Awards in 2004, more than any other station in our market.

Many Faces/Many Voices

Many Faces/Many Voices is KVIE's outreach campaign on diversity. Each month, we air a number of programs relating to diversity that help to educate on diversity and issues of tolerance. Look for the Many Faces/Many Voices logo (appearing here on the right) in each month's OnSix to know which programs are part of the effort.

The broadcast is a bridge to create dialogue and foster understanding. In addition to airing programs from PBS and other sources, KVIE actively produces and broadcasts full-length programs, as well as segments that air in between programs.

About KVIE Outreach
KVIE's Outreach is a unique service that connects KVIE to the community by extending the content of broadcasts and expanding their impact. Through outreach, collaborations and partnerships are formed to address important issues such as education, end-of-life concerns, and healthcare.

The overall goal of these outreach projects is to engage Central Valley citizens in dialogue and activity. Outreach projects may include public forums, live programming, or classroom presentations. These projects help community members identify ways to address important issues.
