Yuyi Morales, Sacramento — Yuyi and her son came to the United States and moved in with her fiance and his mother. Yuyi spoke no English and her soon-to-be mother-in-law spoke no Spanish. Yuyi then started watching public television with her son.

Dr. Janis Jones, Penryn Dr. Janis Jones is a community college instructor who submitted her “My Story” to KVIE because she was so pleased with how timely The NewsHour was about announcing the Nobel Prize in literature. She used it for her class the next day. She also regularly incorporates FRONTLINE materials in her Advanced Argument course.

Henry Wirz, Sacramento — KVIE has changed my life and the lives of my family members significantly. My son and daughter grew up watching All Creatures Great and Small based on the books by James Herriot. My son is now a senior at UC Davis applying to enter Veterinary School. KVIE and its programming do make a difference in the lives of young people. [read more]
