Building Green
Building Green is a labor of passion. Producer and host Kevin Contreras is as fiercely committed to building awareness as he is to building houses, which is why he and other like-minded individuals are now developing media to do just that. Building Green TV's mission is to provide homeowners with a glimpse of just how easy, cost-effective and healthy it is to go green, while dispelling the myth that an environmentally conscious lifestyle means doing without. http://www.buildinggreentv.com/

California’s Green
We all know how important it is to preserve and protect our fragile natural environment here in California. With ever-greater and faster population growth and development staring us in the face, it's more critical now than ever to try and live in harmony with our state's environment by preserving clean air, conserving water and dealing with issues like recycling and open spaces. ViewFinder: California Heat
As companion program to the national Frontline: Heat program, KVIE will present a special edition of ViewFinder to address issues associated with climate change in our region.
The Central Valley of California and the mountainous Sierra Nevada are both environmentally valuable and economically critical to California and to the nation. The Central Valley farmlands are some of the most productive farmland in America and are a key economic driver. From the Sierra snowpack flow is nearly all of the water that makes human society possible in California; and those waters sustain the incredible array of ecosystems in the region.
Climate change threatens the people in our region, our economic livelihood, and the safety of the plant and animal life in our area. Warming trends have eaten into the snowpack, suggesting both devastating flood risk and future water scarcity for all of California's major cities which depend on the Sierra (LA, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento). KVIE will explore the implications of the receding snowpack, alerting viewers to the very real consequences of climate change in our backyard. Visit website

In recent years, climate change and its effects have become a leading concern around the world, altering lifestyles and influencing important legislation. This special two-hour Frontline presentation investigates the world’s largest coal mine, oil refinery and offshore oil rig, as well as America’s biggest utility companies and car manufacturers, to discover what big businesses are willing and able to do to address the world’s climate problem. Watch reports from Africa and Mount Everest to get an up close look at how global warming is affecting some of the planet’s major ecosystems and listen to interviews with some of the nation’s leading environmentalists to learn about innovative solutions that may help combat this substantial problem.
