These jurors were selected because of their extensive artistic background and knowledge of our regional arts community.
Elliot Fouts is the owner of Elliot Fouts Gallery in Downtown Sacramento which specializes in Northern California landscape, figurative, and still life works with an emphasis on the landscape. His gallery is a well known local venue highlighting many Sacramento area artists and features monthly rotating exhibitions. Elliot has been pursuing a life-long interest in art and the business of art since he began working in his father's galleries in New York and Carmel. He has been a part of the Sacramento art scene for 18 years, opening his first gallery in 1999. He is a long-time advocate of local arts organizations including the KVIE Public Television Art Auction and the Crocker Art Museum.
Elizabeth Rohlfes is the curator for Roseville Arts, a community resource established over 40 years ago to promote the arts in the city of Roseville. This non-profit organization supports local artists and brings artwork from around the world to the area. As curator for their new Blue Line Gallery, she is responsible for showcasing the works of regional as well as national artists in this state-of-the-art facility. Ms. Rohlfes became curator of the Blue Line Gallery in 1999. She also became curator of the new Children's Gallery the following year, directing its first annual Family Arts Festival. She was awarded a Roseville Artie Award in 2001 for coordinating the sites for the Children's Tile Wall paintings at the Galleria at Roseville. She also received a Roseville Artie Award in 2003 for initiating the 3rd Saturday Art Tour event. Rohlfes has an MA in Art History from Tulane University in New Orleans, and has taught college and high school in New Orleans and Mexico City.
