Healing Quest
This half-hour series focuses on alternative and integrative healing. The program concentrates on practitioners and innovators around the world who are working to better understand this connection and are seeking ways for health care professionals and individuals to use this knowledge in daily life. Each program appeals not only to those who already have an interest in alternative and integrative medicine, but also to those who are just curious or even skeptical.

The Pain of Depression: A Journey Through the Darkness, Wednesday, October 3 at 3:00 pm (repeating Sunday, October 7 at 11:00am)
This program explores the physical and emotional challenges of an illness which afflicts more than 30 million Americans each year. Compelling stories from depression sufferers reveal its devastating impact on families, friends and communities. Nationally recognized experts discuss depression’s neurophysiology, symptoms, treatments and the role of family and friends in an individual's recovery. The documentary also touches upon the stigma of mental illness within various ethnic communities, including the Latino population. Expand and transform your understanding of the heart with the comprehensive series, The Mysterious Human Heart, which explores common misconceptions and documents the latest scientific and medical revelations. The series will include powerful stories of peoples’ experiences with heart disease and interviews with many leading heart-health experts. The human heart can endure abuse and trauma with extraordinary resilience, yet heart disease has become the world's number one killer of men and women alike. Each episode of this series focuses on a different aspect of the heart to tell stories of inspiration and discovery.

Stories from the Heart, Monday, October 15 at 10:00pm, repeating the next day at 3:00pm.
A phenomenal documentary which journeys into the bold new frontiers of cardiovascular heath to reveal the complexity of the human cardiovascular system. The program highlights fascinating case studies, or “heart stories,” of a diverse group of people; including the efficient system of newborns, uncovers the silent threat of hypertension and chronicles the nightmare of a cardiac event. Stunning animations will transport viewers on an incredible journey through the human body to explore cardiovascular health inside and out.
