Responsibilities/Duties:
On-Air Fundraising
- Schedule and train phone bank and teleprompter volunteers during pledge drives
- Report pledge information to external PBS partners and market research contacts
- Create trending reports on top programs / talent / premiums; including demographic research
- Conduct program research, break code assignments in all necessary software; creation of studio run-sheets and associated pledge documentation
- Participate in on-air script management process
- Provide general administrative support to On-Air Fundraising department and the Director
- Green room setup and maintenance during pledge periods
- Management of pledge supplies (i.e. maintaining inventory, product ordering)
- Other related duties as assigned
Special Events
- Assist with the Art Auction events to include art receiving and pick-up/shipping process, administration of online auction system, mailings, and general administrative support to Art Auction staff
- Administration of related databases and creation of database extracts and reports
- Partner with Marketing department on effective event marketing plans; aid in the development and design of all event print materials and forms
- Other special events duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines, and paying critical attention to production and technical details
- Interact professionally and productively with station staff and volunteers
- Advanced PC skills with MS Office. Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
- Familiarity with Relational Databases (e.g. SQL) preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends (during pledge and special events)
- Internet research proficiency
- Experience working with online or live auctions preferred
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team setting
Education/Experience:
- BA degree in communications, technology, or relevant program; or AA degree plus 2 years work experience
- One to two years administrative experience
