Grants Specialist

Classification: Regular, Part-Time, Non-Exempt
(15-20 hours/week)

Summary:
KVIE is hiring for the part-time position of Grants Specialist. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of grant writing, strong research ability and attention to detail.  If you value public television consider joining our KVIE team that is committed to bringing quality programming to everyone in our region.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Research and identify viable foundation and corporate grant makers.
  • Grant writing: prepare grant submissions, collaborating with appropriate program staff on content and deliverables.
  • Stewardship and reporting: provide updates and reports to funders, working with appropriate program staff to gather the needed information.
  • Cultivation: build relationships with funders to pave the way to future grants.
  • Collaborate with appropriate program staff on content, draft and submit grant proposals, conduct stewardship and report for grants received.
  • Establish and maintain grant files; track results; maintain grants database.
  • Communicate with leadership & prospective grantors, vendors and other visitors as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Special Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of fundraising concepts.
  • Persuasive writing skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet research.
  • Ability to work efficiently & effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and detail-oriented.
  • Efficient verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.

Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS degree
  • 2+ years non-profit/fundraising experience

Special Conditions:

  • Able to work flexible hours.
